A Tribute to Jack Aknin

My good friend, Jack Aknin, recently went to be with the Lord. Jack was a great man of God and an incredible musician. I had the pleasure of playing music with him every Sunday for almost 15 years.

Jack's fight against the cancer in his body was a testament to his passion and determination. He never gave up.

A couple of months before he died, Jack told his wife, Barbie, that he wanted me to play the song "Your Love Goes Deeper" at his memorial service. It's a song that I wrote while I was at Bible college in 2003. Jack and I recorded it as part of an album we did with our worship team at Kingsway Community Church.

My wife and I performed the song at Jack's memorial service last Sunday. It was wonderful to be a part of such an incredible day of remembering and honoring Jack's life.

I wanted to make the original recording of the song available as a free download. The recording features Jack playing both the piano parts and the tasteful electric guitar.
